Assange founded the controversial Wikileaks website in 2006 and is part of its advisory board. In this capacity, he has been involved in the publication of material that documents the extrajudicial killings in Kenya, a report of toxic waste off the African coast, the Church of Scientology manual procedures at Guantanamo Bay. Recently Julian Assange received widespread public attention to the publication of classified material on WikiLeaks document details U.S. involvement in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Prior to working with the Wikileaks, Julian Assange was a student of physics and mathematics, as well as a computer programmer. Julian has lived in several countries and has told reporters he is constantly in motion. Irregular makes public appearances to discuss press freedom, censorship and investigative journalism, but has also won several journalism awards for his work with Wikileaks.
On November 30, 2010, Interpol placed Julian Assange on mailing list of wanted persons red concomitantly, a European arrest warrant was issued for Julian Assange. He is wanted for questioning on suspicion of "sex crimes". Julian Assange has not been charged with any crime. Mark Stephens, a British legal representative Assange said that "it is very irregular and unusual for the Swedish authorities to issue a red alert in the teeth of the undisputed fact that Mr. Assange is committed to comply voluntarily to answer questions the prosecutor."
